Building a life that is true to your heart starts with our relationship.

It’s important that you can feel accepted and express yourself comfortably when talking to your therapist.  You may have been in therapy in the past, and just felt like some things were off the table. You’d never feel safe enough to share.  This can be different. It’s not until you can talk freely, that you can heal fully.

You may think that you need to seek therapy once you hit a certain place in your life or once you understand what’s going on with you enough to explain it to someone else. Let me tell you, I’m here to meet you where you are.  You might have had experiences in the past when you tried to share something important to you, and felt like the other person simply didn’t get it.  We know that having someone truly understands who you are and how you feel is one of the most pivotal parts of healing.  We call it being seen and heard. 

You may think that therapy is just about understanding the “broken” bits of you, but it’s so much more than that.  Together, we’ll get in touch with your inner strengths and values. These create the foundation for us to start building the life you WANT to have, instead of reacting to past experiences.

As a bilingual migrant psychologist who has lived in vastly different countries, I understand the complex ways personal, cultural and societal factors can impact one’s well-being, and I can support you in navigating these challenges. 

  • Culturally Responsive & Social Justice Oriented

    I consider how your context (family background; cultural values and beliefs; both marginalized and privileged social identities) might influence your daily life. I’ll intentionally make space for you to have conversations around how these relate to your mental health. We’ll also explore how you can use your strengths to get involved in social action to create a long-lasting change for you and your community.

  • Balancing Acceptance & Change

    I use mindfulness- and acceptance-based interventions to foster awareness and clarity. My goal is to balance acceptance with change to help you accept yourself as you are now and become more compassionate and understanding toward yourself, while changing the behaviors that keep you stuck in suffering.

  • Trauma-Informed

    The traumas we experienced in the past can deeply impact our current lives. If you’ve gone through trauma, the coping mechanisms you’ve developed over time, including those that may be unhelpful or unhealthy, have served an important purpose: survival. It’s my priority that you feel safe and supported in our relationship. We’ll work together to help you heal from the wounds of any kind of trauma you might be carrying and become whole again.

  • Evidence-Based

    You deserve therapy that works! My therapeutic style is grounded in a relational approach. Additionally, I blend methods and tools from therapy models that are scientifically proven to be effective. These models include psychodynamic therapy, dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT).
