Questions about what it’s like to work together?
Here are some of the most common questions I get about my services. If you don’t see your question answered below, please contact me.

I provide online therapy to individuals throughout Massachusetts, California, and abroad (in the countries I am legally eligible to practice). I use a fully HIPPA-compliant and secure online tele-therapy platform. To join our sessions, you just need access to a computer or phone with video capability and strong internet connection. No purchases or downloads are required. You can join from any space that is private (home, office, car, or a park or yard) to ensure confidentiality.

Online therapy is proven to be as effective as face-to-face therapy. It helps you get the best psychological support possible in the most convenient and flexible way. Online therapy can be a great option for people who”
Have busy or rotating schedules
Travel frequently or reside in multiple locations throughout the year
Live in cities with a heavy traffic problem and limited parking options
Have limited access to transportation
Have difficulty leaving home due to weather conditions such as snow storms or heat waves
Need accessibility due to physical disabilities
Have limited caregiving (child or elder care) options
Live in remote or rural areas
Feel more comfortable having their therapy sessions in their own space
Please note that online therapy may not be suitable for people with severe mental illness or high-risk behaviors such as severe suicidal/homicidal behaviors, psychosis, heavy substance use, and eating disorders. -
My fee for a 50-minute therapy session is $250 or its equivalent in other currencies, which is due at the time of service.
Please contact me to learn the fees for mental health consultation and training sessions for organizations, as I tailor these services based on the specific needs of the organizations and leaders.

I do not accept private health insurance, Medicaid, or Medicare. However, I would be happy to provide a statement (a superbill) that you can submit to your insurance provider in case your insurance plan covers out-of-network providers. Your insurance plan might partially reimburse you for the session fees. Please be sure to contact your insurance provider to check if you have out-of-network coverage for online therapy (telehealth) services.

A helpful therapy experience starts with finding the right therapist for you. It is important that you feel comfortable with your therapist to get the most out of your therapy experience. I offer a free phone or video consultation to help you decide if we would be a good fit. During this consultation, you’ll have the opportunity to get an understanding of my style and how we will work together. You can also ask any questions about me and the therapy process.

If you decide that we would be a good fit, we will proceed with scheduling our initial sessions in which we’ll work together to build further connection and trust; identify how the concerns that bring you to therapy have developed over time; and set up your goals. We’ll then build a personalized plan to help you reach those goals.
During therapy, you’ll be gaining a deeper understanding of the roots of your concerns as well as practical tools, such as healthy coping strategies and skills, to improve the ways you live. We’ll hopefully design a therapy experience that you find transforming and empowering.
Some people may feel like they have more distress when they first start therapy. It may be because they start noticing the emotions or problems they’ve avoided for a long time. As you try new perspectives and strategies to understand yourself, reduce suffering, and improve your overall well-being, you may get a sense that things get worse before they get better. Having a non-judgemental and open attitude toward yourself and the therapy process will help you see optimal results faster. My goal is to help you learn tangible tools by the end of each session, so you can apply them in your life and take another step toward your goals. -
The length of therapy depends on several factors including your goals, life circumstances, engagement in the therapy process between the sessions as well as your therapist’s availability. Moreover, the type and duration of therapy you receive should be matched to the nature and severity of your concerns. As such, acute problems often require fewer therapy sessions than do chronic conditions (e.g., personality disorders, severe and persistent mental illness).
Recent clinical research suggests that about half of clients feel significant improvement after 15 to 20 sessions. People with co-occurring conditions may require longer treatment (usually over a year) for therapy to be effective. In my practice, some clients reach their goals and graduate within 4-6 months. Others enjoy the therapy process and prefer to continue therapy over longer periods. These clients are able to see the positive effects of ongoing therapy, build a deeper and stronger relationship with themselves and others, and maintain their gains in the long term. Please keep in mind that you get to decide how long you would like your therapy to continue!
-
Because consistency is a key component of an effective therapy process, we’ll meet weekly or at least every other week to get the best outcomes and help you reach your goals as soon as possible.
